The Alb is a modern, attitude free venue in the heart of Shrewsbury - step into the Albert lounge bar and you will struggle to believe it used to be an old drinkers pub ... think quirky artwork and comfy sofas!
The Alb is home to Shrewsbury Jelly every other month - what a kooky, comfortable place to come and co-work.
Eat Up Shrewsbury is a restaurant and cafe where local quality produce is at the heart of all they do - a place to meet, share and enjoy & perfect for Shrewsbury Jelly every other month. With a relaxed feel, top notch coffee, tea pigs tea, in-house baked cakes and simple honest British grub who wouldn't want to Eat Up and co-work here! The venue doesn't charge to host us or for the WiFi use. So in the spirit of Jelly we encourage you to purchase lunch and refreshments from them to say thank you.

What is a Jelly?
A Jelly is a casual co-working event. It is the antidote to business and social isolation for home workers, freelancers and self-employed people. We also welcome those thinking about starting up and might need some advice, or use it as a research day. Come along and work with other like-minded people for a day.
We don't charge and there is free WIFI but we do encourage you to purchase lunch and refreshments to say thank you to the venue for giving us a space.
Jelly is not networking! It is a mixture of work, chat, sharing ideas, meeting new people, helping others, passing on tips etc. It's also free, so what's not to like?! Come along and give it a try!
Shrewsbury Jelly
- takes place on the 2nd Thursday of the month.
- runs 9-4, but come and go as you please.
- and is completely free.
The Basic Format is:
- turn up with a laptop
- take a seat
- do some work
- have a bit of a chat
- eat and drink as needed
- go home
Parking and Transport
Both venues are right in the middle of town, a 5 min walk from Shrewsbury train station.
Bike is best!
There are various car parks around but even better, use the Park & Ride; cheap and they all stop in convenient places!
