Jelly is Coming to Sacramento

. . . and Roseville, too

What's this "Jelly" thing all about?

Jelly is an every-so-often casual co-working session. Anyone is welcome to come, bring a laptop, and work alongside other creative, fun people. Hope to see you there! See workatjelly.com and for more background. Email if you want to start your own!

Our Current Status

We're just getting started, so you can get in on the ground floor (sticky as that may sound.)

Our first goal is to assess interest: would you find it helpful to have a semi-regular gathering where you could bring your work-at-home self to a group setting? Although we'll be organizing Jelly in Roseville, our hope is that it will spread (spreading Jelly; get it?) downtown so y'all don't always have to travel to the 'burbs (although, it's about time, isn't it?)

A Status Update (Finally!)

Ricardo and Jeff, the guys at CapSity, are going to spearhead JellySac. Ecch; sounds like a spider. Anyway, these guys are going to be writing here, there, and everywhere about what we can all do to support the co-working environment in our area.

Take it away, CapSity!

The Next Step

Please let us know who you are, where you are, and if you like, a bit about why Jelly interests you. And so, to begin:

I'm Joel D Canfield. I'm in Roseville. I've written three business books, 'The Commonsense Entrepreneur', '49 Proverbs of Business Heresy', and 'The Commonsense Virtual Assistant' (this last with my wife, Sue.) I'm co-founder of the Northern California Association of Entrepreneurs, and member of a number of formal and informal networking groups. I'd love to have a Jelly that included folks from various disciplines (web development, writing, speaking, music and other arts, entrepreneurs) to foster some emergent energy happenings and cross-pollination. Oh jump higher; and with my buddy Jerry Kennedy, I'm promoting business heresy as loudly as I can.

How about you?

Please add your name, tell us a little about yourself, and why you might join our Jelly. Here's how:

  1. Click the 'Edit' button at the top or bottom of this page
  2. Log in using your email address and the password j311y—that's the letter j, the number three, the number one (twice) and the letter y
  3. Add your info at the bottom of the page
  4. Click the 'Save' button
  5. Enjoy your handiwork

Jelly! Sacramentens

I'm Sue L Canfield in Roseville and yes, Joel's mine. In addition to supporting Joel's endeavors, I run a virtual business Awesome Assistant. I provide service and support to small businesses and I specialize in bookkeeping.

Hello! I am Jenny Arnez in Rancho Cordova. I am photographer working on starting my own business this year. I have some work ahead of me and think being part of a Jelly would help with motivation, creativity, providing an opportunity to learn & share with others and just be fun! Thank you!

Hey Sacramento. I'm Glenn Weatherson and tried getting a Sacramento Jelly started a while back but nothing came through.. Glad to see someone else trying. I'm a full-time and freelance web designer, always busy.

I am Chris and I live and work in the Natomas area as an art director/designer. I work out of my home, but once in a while I like to go to my local It's a Grind cafe for coffee and work. I saw the article on CNN and it looks very interesting.

Hey, I'm Joaquin, an online content consultant for various health care providers. I work from home 3 days a week on our dining room table and it's driving my wife insane! Anyway, this sounds very cool and I'm very interested, particularly if it's in Roseville as I'm in Lincoln. Count me in!

I'm a web developer and user experience designer.  I think it would be wonderful opportunity to touch base with others not so closely connected to my projects.  Expand my vision and be more creative.

Hello Joel and Sue, it's great to hear that Jelly is happening in Sacramento and Roseville! Please let us know if we can help you host a Jelly here at Capsity Offices, we would love to support your efforts! We will also be creating a series of Jellys in the near future at Capsity. Keep us posted! Ricardo officedynamo@capsity.com

Hi Sacto- I'm Jennifer, live Downtown, work out of my home office between 2-5 days a week. would love to connect!

Arthur here  -- I do a lot of online work,  mostly editing/writing/research, and Jelly sounds like an interesting change of pace.

Hello. I'm Laura, a feelance writer for one of the major essay writing services in West Covina. My other passions include graphic designing and biking. I'd love to know people who can help me grow professionally, and whom I can share life's ups and downs with. Internet Hosting

Hi all, I'm Isaac Steiner. I live in Rancho Cordova and work as a designer in midtown (M-F, 8-5) and am always interested in encouraging the design community in Sacramento.

Howdy! Damon Tribble here. I'm a freelance web designer living in El Dorado Hills. I work at home and at local coffee shops but would love to get out of the house and meet up with some other freelancers. I'm lobbying for Roseville, but would be up for heading downtown a couple days a week. BTW, here's a good article on Jellys (Jellies?).

Hi. I'm David Ritchey. I'm a learning web developer. I don't talk much, but I like company while I work. I'm serious about work. I just bought a house in Rio Linda on one acre. I'm usually awake between 12 and 12. I thrive off of co-working as discovered in my days living at an Infoshop. Thus, I'm setting up my house to be a casual but serious co-working environment. Call me and let's turn this house into a free co-working environment for serious good-hearted folk. I'm at 916 9six9 3907. I'll be contacting y'all after Comcast finishes running underground line to the house. Let's be successful!

Hello, I'm Kari (writer/researcher).  I plan to tour CapSity and Urban Hive tomorrow but am intrigued about Jelly.  I know I work better when I'm with others who are also working and writing.  Looking forward to meeting everyone.
