What is this "Jelly"?
Jelly is an every-so-often casual coworking session. Anyone is welcome to come, bring a laptop, and work alongside other creative, fun people. Hope to see you there! See workatjelly.com and this blog post for more background. contact the founder if you want to start your own!
Registration Info
- All Jelly Burbank registration will be managed by upcoming. I'd like to let them handle the RSVPs, reminders & whatever else.
- If you have any trouble with it, my contact info is below.
How will I know when the next Jelly is going to be?
- It will take place here in Burbank every other week, on Mondays. Simply check upcoming.
Where is it?
- My house is on Alameda, which is the street that divides Glendale & Burbank (there's a map at the upcoming website).
- I will contact all people who RSVPd with the exact address before the scheduled dates... if you don't have it , send me an e-mail!
What can I expect at this Jelly?
- Free wireless Internet access.
- I can comfortably have about 10 people indoors and even more if they want to sit outside. (we've got nice lawn furniture: 2 tables, 4 seats each)
- You'll have access to basic office stuff like tape, stapler, whiteboard, paper-cutter, shredder, etc.
- Relatively quiet neighborhood, except for landscapers & such.
- Plenty of coffee and hot water for tea. Bring your lunch or eat at one of several local restaurants.
- Two dogs to play with when you need a break.
- Plenty of free street parking (bus routes are available but not that close).
- Nice things to look at from front window or back yard.
- Pay-per-page access to a color laser printer.
- Pay-per-page access to a thermal OR inkjet copier.
A few things to note:
- Absolutely no smoking, indoors or out, while you're here. It's a nice neighborhood for a walk, tho.
- You may show up later than the "doors open" time indicated on upcoming but please don't come earlier.
- I offer open wireless access (free, of course), via a cable-modem and an Airport Express. You must provide your own ability to access the internet wirelessly.
- We'll all have to share one point of internet access. No torrents or other such nonsense.
- I do not have a landline phone. Please use your own cellphone and/or Skype.
- Since I have no landline, I have no fax machine either. Just thought I should mention :-)
- RE: The dogs. They are large-ish. If you have allergies or phobias, please medicate yourself appropriately. Sorry, you can't bring your own pets.
- Feel free to bring snacks or anything you want to eat. There's a 7-11 about 1 mile away, and a mini mall across the street from the 7-11
